You will have access to the courses as long as you are a member. Membership can be cancelled at any time. Are you ready to master the Hebrew language? Click here to start today!
3. When do the courses start?
The course material is available for you to study at your own pace. You can start learning as soon as you start your membership!
4. How long will it take me to complete the courses?
On average, the length of each unit video lesson is 10 minutes. The written exercises are intended for review and to build your “muscle memory,” which is the greatest factor in all language learning.
As you get adjusted to the language material, assignments may take a long time. (If that is the case with you, please be patient with yourself!) As time goes on, you should expect to spend approximately 20 minutes per exercise.
The time to complete each course will depend on your pace of study.
For example, a student who studies 3 units per week should expect the following estimated completion times:
Level 1 (28 lessons) - 2 ½ months
Levels 2 - 5(avg. of 10 lessons per level ) - 3 weeks per level
By studying consistently at this pace, it would take approximately 6 months to complete all 6 levels.
5. Do I need to buy any additional resources or materials to participate?
All the course material is included in your membership but A Hebrew/English dictionary is reccomended to assist with the assignments. A Hebrew/English Verb book is suggested once you reach Level 6.
6. Are there assignments?
For almost every lesson there are writing assignments and their answer sheets. Doing these assignments are a critical part of being able to learn Hebrew!
7. Are there grades or certificates?
There is no formal grading of the assignments but answer sheets are provided so that you can assess your level of mastery over the material. Certificates will be awarded upon completion of each level.
8. Are the classes live or recorded?
All the classes are recorded, so that you have can have access to them 24/7!
9. I have some Hebrew knowledge, which course should I start with?
The best approach is to start with Level 1 to avoid missing out on any aspects of the unique method being taught. If you've previously learned Hebrew you may be able to go through the first levels quickly.
10. Will I be able to speak Hebrew after this course? What level should I expect after completing the course?
The explicit goal of the course is NOT speaking Hebrew, but don't let that dissuade you. My personal experience is that when my students go off to an ulpan they go to the top of the class! This course is about the operating system for ALL Hebrew. Anyone who takes it will read, write, and understand Hebrew. You'll speak it too, after you put in the neccesary practice at that particular skill, which we're not making our focus point.
11. How can I prepare to make the most out of the course?
If you don't yet read or write Hebrew, make sure to take the Aleph Bet Course first. Once you've acquired basic reading and writing skills (as described in the four lessons of the Aleph Bet course), you're all ready to go & don't need any more preparation than that!
